OUR STORY

Three Monkeys Wine began in 2003 when three college friends decided to make a barrel of wine to share with family and friends. Our goal was to make a very good "house" wine. We surprised ourselves, producing a better than expected wine that was not only highly enjoyable to drink, but which generated a buzz among those who had the opportunity to taste it. In 2004, we expanded the winemaking program and began to explore the possibility of creating a business that would serve and reflect a philosophy of creating, sharing and giving back.

THE NEXT GENERATION

As Three Monkeys turns 20, we welcome a new generation – and a new face to the team, Johnny Van Leuven. Son of Tom & Margaretta Van Leuven, Johnny spent last summer in San Francisco learning the business and focusing his time helping us expand our commercial footprint into Mexico. He also conducted a review of our web site and evaluated how we could best incorporate social media into our marketing and customer experience, which has resulted in a new web site and an upcoming launch of Instagram account.

WINEMAKING

We also take our responsibility to the environment seriously. Also, our carbon footprint is drastically smaller than a traditional brick-and-mortar winery.

We are dedicated to offering exceptional value: super-premium handcrafted wines at affordable prices. Due to our unique business model, we are able to focus the vast majority of our resources on the "art of wine" and on maximizing quality, while minimizing expenses in every other area of the "business of wine".

We partner with winemakers who possess significant experience creating highly sought after limited production wines, and we source our grapes from leading growers in viticultural areas where climate, soil, and varietal are ideally matched.

"DO WELL AND DO GOOD"

10% of all revenue from wine sales is donated to our Angels Share charities, each of which provides vital services to children in need. We also take our responsibility to the environment seriously. Also, our carbon footprint is drastically smaller than a traditional brick-and-mortar winery.
